Frome Art Society was founded in 1979 by Charles and Vera Appleyard and Charles Hopkins to encourage local people to become involved in painting and drawing. We remain a welcoming and inclusive group, with members of all abilities, both amateur and professional.
By joining Frome Art Society, you will have the opportunity to take part in all parts of our programme alongside colleagues.
Membership is just £20 a year.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Frome Cricket Club
- 7 pm | Wine and nibbles: meet new members and chat with society members
- 7.30 pm | Talk: ‘My Painting Process (from sketchbook to finished painting)’ by Amanda Bee, FAS Community Ambassador
- 8 pm | Prize giving
- Reports from the committee and election of committee members.
Bring any excess art materials for the ‘bring and buy’ swap.

WORKSHOPS
Our inspirational artists’ workshops are held at Trudoxhill Village Hall, from autumn to spring. Artists at all levels of experience are welcome. Early booking is advised. Members only – join FAS to participate.
Workshops will begin again in autumn.

Held at Trudoxhilll Village Hall, 10 am-4 pm. More information and booking details will be circulated in the summer. All welcome, whether experienced or a complete beginner.
Fri 11 Oct | ‘Learning to Love Watercolour’ with Maureen Bond
A practical hands-on day for complete beginners and those who want to improve their understanding of what is often described as a difficult medium. This workshop aims to dispel that myth.
Fri 8 Nov | ’Art Journaling’ with Jo Beale
Capturing the essence of a day on paper. Building up an art journal page with the focus on creating images, composition and lettering.
Fri 6 Dec | ’Painting in Yellows’ with David Chandler
An acrylic painting day taking inspiration from the ways in which artists such as Van Goch and Kandinsky used yellows to great effect in their work.
