OUR ACTIVITIES
OUTDOOR PAINTING DAYS
We enjoy painting in a variety of outdoor locations, many not usually available to the public, in the company of other artists.
Members bring their own lunch and come and go as they please between 10am and 4pm. There are toilet facilities at all venues.

WORKSHOPS
A range of inspirational artists’ workshops, held at Trudoxhill Village Hall, between 10am and 4pm. Artists of all levels of experience welcome.
Our Covid policy is in place and numbers restricted to allow for social distancing. Early booking is advised. Booking links are given in members’ digital newsletters.

TALKS AND DEMONSTRATIONS
A series of popular talks and demonstrations are held from autumn to spring at Frome Cricket Club. Afternoon sesions begin at 2.15 and evening sessions at 7.15.
All sessions are free to members, who are most welcome to bring guests along (NB there is a charge of £3 for non-members).

While national Covid restrictions are reducing, the FAS Committee remain keen to support the safety of members by operating talks, demos and workshops in as safe a way as possible.
For that reason, we strongly recommend that everyone follows the steps below.
Masks should be worn where closer contact is more likely.
Hand sanitiser should be used before handling shared equipment etc.*The hall will be ventilated by opening windows.

Covid risk is heightened – a full refund will be given in this situation.

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME
Charles and Vera Appleyard and Charles Hopkins founded Frome Art Society in 1979 to encourage local people to become involved in painting and drawing in a friendly atmosphere.
We remain a welcoming, supportive and inclusive society, with members of all abilities, both amateur and professional. We hold regular exhibitions and provide a varied and inspiring programme of demonstrations, talks, workshops and outdoor painting opportunities.

The Appleyard Trophy is awarded to the entry with the most votes awarded by the public.
